For private clients: (1) Once you have made your initial enquiry and would like to go ahead with a definite booking, please send a confirmation email to me with as much information as possible at that point (particularly for ceremonies). This will secure your date and ensure your priority over other requests. (2) Once we have agreed a price for your booking I would ask for an advance deposit of 50% of the total, and the balance to be sent 28 days before your booked date. Many people now prefer internet banking and an arrangement of two separate payments is fine in this respect. For cancellations after agreement, please see (3) below. (3) Should you need to cancel within 28 days of your date and have booked a Ceremony, I will require the full Ceremony fee. However, in the unlikely event that I should be able to re-book your date with another client, I offer a refund for the deposit amount: this is because of the administration and practicing involved in Ceremony preparation, as only part of the fee covers actually playing on the day. For Drinks and Wedding Breakfast cancellations within 28 days, I offer a partial refund depending on the hours booked and the preparation undertaken, which is at my discretion. This is because of the near-impossibility of being able to re-book so close to the date. Many clients books months in advance and often date clashes occur even then which result in work being turned down. (4) Sometimes it happens that two bookings arrive for the same date, for example a daytime wedding followed by an evening party. I will advise you if this is the case and work my timings around both bookings if possible to ensure smooth running on the day, but ask for your understanding to leave in reasonable time from the first in order to fulfill my commitment to the second. (5) Please note that I charge for practising beforehand at ceremonies or for rehearsals. This is normally calculated at half my charge for the first hour of playing. (6) Please advise at time of booking if you require a receipt for wedding insurance purposes. (7) Please arrange to send any music, either on CD or on sheet, at least 28 days prior to your booked date. Thank you. For agency bookings: Please contact the agent directly who will issue a contract on your behalf and forward to me after agreement with all parties.
